For nearly 17 years, Ken Jenniges has owned and operated the Indianapolis Steamatic franchise, providing cleaning and restoration services to commercial and residential clients throughout Central Indiana. Although approximately fifty percent of Steamatic’s business originates from insurance claims for fire and water recovery, the company also specializes in duct cleaning, mold remediation, and carpet and upholstery cleaning. The business was started from scratch in 1991 and has enjoyed steady growth year after year, today employing twenty people and servicing over 3,000 customers.

Throughout its history, Steamatic of Indianapolis never employed an accountant as part of its operations. The company used QuickBooks and used various office staff to perform day to day accounting tasks. “I hired operations people and expected accounting results without an accountant on staff. We got by but our financials weren’t accurate or timely. Now there is more simplification, ease and accuracy within our accounting system. We’re a cash flow business, and now I know my cash position at all times.”

Ken used to have Susan Hall and Associates make adjustments to the accounting records every month, with such adjustments often totaling thousands of dollars. “Now the month-end corrections are almost non-existent. Everyone at Milestone Advisors is extremely professional. It’s a great relationship, and Pam and Sarah have exceeded my expectations.”
